Radar Ron's Bio

At three minutes after midnight on the 20th of April 1946, on the cusp of Aries and Taurus, I popped into this world.
In Vietnam, I did two tours on the gun line, aboard an old Navy destroyer, USS Radford (DD-446). During my hitch, I visited New Zealand, during joint exercises with the Australian and New Zealand Navies, in 1969. As a D.A.S.H. crew member, I helped service drone helicopters, aboard this much decorated, WW II, veteran destroyer. We called the drones "robots of the sky".......yes we actually had robotics even back then!
As a civilian, I worked for various corporations on projects such as AWACS, BMEWS, and DEW line radars: Tropo-scatter communications systems, I.U.S. spacecraft and E4-B airborne command post aerospace projects.
My first love is art and I'm basically a self taught artist. I was able to take lessons in oil painting from a wonderful lady, Ilona Rittler, while working for Boeing and living in Bellevue Washington, in the late 1970's. John Amendola, a commercial artist, sometimes critiqued my work, when he generously had time for a fledgling.
In 1992, I chose a more spiritual path, taking seminars from a wonderful lady, Jann Weiss. She taught a technique called "The Tool" to go deep inside and heal yourself and others. With this process I overcame a lot of limitations I was placing on myself, and learned to accept myself and others for the truth of who we all are. From 1994 until 1999 I did one-on-one spiritual counseling with others, and also long distance healing work, using a much modified version of Jann's wonderful techniques.
Then in July of 1999 my long time friend and E-mail buddy, Sharri Lorraine, came to visit me. It was Love at second sight, because we'd met before in 1991 and 92. We realized that we were Soul Mates and have been Dreaming together all our lives. We were Handfasted on August 1st. This amazing lady was able to get the Hermit out of his cave. I moved to Everett with her for a while, then she sold her house and moved back to Wenatchee with me in September of 2000.
I have learned there are no barriers on human beings other than what we place on ourselves, or accept from others. Whatever the human being imagines and conceives of, comes into being.
*Ideas are the first fruits of reality*
Thanks for visiting my world, and glimpsing possible new realities with me.

In Loving Memory of Ronald R. Longuskie,
aka:"Skie" aka: "Radar Ron"
Ronald Raymond Longuskie, aka Radar Ron, 57, a longtime resident of Wenatchee, died Friday, October 24, 2003 at Central Washington Hospital from a heart attack. He was born April 20, 1946, on the cusp of Aries and Taurus, the son of Eva Goodman and Orville Longuskie in Wenatchee. Ron was introduced to Ham Radio in his teens and had one of the largest antennas in the area. He attended all the Wenatchee schools and graduated from Wenatchee High in 1965.Following graduation Ron entered the US Navy and was assigned to the USS Radford. He was a D.A.S.H. crew member, servicing Drone helicopters, aboard this much decorated, WW II, veteran destroyer. After honorably serving his country during the Vietnam War, he was discharged in 1969. As a civilian, Ron worked for various corporations on projects such as AWACS, BMEWS, and DEW line radars: Tropo-scatter communications systems, I.U.S. spacecraft and E4-B airborne command post aerospace projects.
Ron's first love was art, and basically taught himself to paint. Except for the short while he was able to take lessons in oil painting from a wonderful lady, Ilona Rittler, while working for Boeing and living in Bellevue Washington, in the late 1970's. John Amendola, a commercial artist, sometimes critiqued Ron's work, when he generously had time for a fledgling. Ron was an avid photographer, taking over 7,000 pictures of Scenic Washington. His family home was lost in the "Castlerock Fire" in 1991, at which time he was devastated over the loss of his photos. Ron's graphics are proudly displayed on the Chelan County flag flying at the Chelan County Courthouse and on the wall of the adjacent building. He was employed at the Chelan County Courthouse in the maintenance department. His graphic art was the cover picture of the Feb. 2002 issue of Science Fiction Weekly, #205. His graphic art is proudly displayed on his website at: <http:www.mindtoolsgraphics.com>
On July 31, 1999, after Dreaming together all their lives, these Soul Mates, Ron and Sharri Lorraine, were reunited and married. Sharri was able to get the Hermit out of his cave. He moved to Everett with her for a while, then she sold her house and moved to Wenatchee to his small family home, in Sept. of 2000. Ron was a "gentlemen's gentleman", who's love touched everyone he knew. His witticism and laughter were priceless. We can't believe he is gone, but we shall meet him in heaven.
Ron is survived by his wife, Sharri Lorraine, mother-in-law, Lois Wright, and Ex, Pam Housden, in Wenatchee, also by his cousin, Orville A. Longuskie, Aunt Clara, Aunt Betty and Uncle Louie Kill. In the Seattle Area he is survived by his cousin Victoria Kill and brother-in-law Hank Mcgee, Tom Jirgensohn, Kathy Kill, Aunt Alice and Uncle Jerry Hite, cousins Jeff, Kim, and John Hite, Aunt Billee and Uncle Ed Escott, cousin Shan Strauss. In Missouri is his niece Shannon, her husband, Ron Mahalko, and her mother, Carolyn Hickey. Also, by his friends Evan Mandonka, Mark Heckel, and Karoline Jay. Preceded in death are both sets of grandparents, his parents, a baby brother and his younger brother, Jerry.
A celebration of Ron's life will be held at the Wenatchee First Assembly of God Church on McKittrick street in Wenatchee on Nov. 22, 2003 at 2:PM. At 2:22 we will have a Bell Ringing for Angels to get their Wings. There will be a potluck following the service. Please bring memories of Ron to share. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Ron's name at the Wenatchee Humane Society. Arrangements are by Jones and Jones.

Dear Friends,
Here I am lumping everyone into one post again!!! Each & everyone has such a Special Place in our Heart!!! I want to answer each one Individually, but that's over 50 post & right now I have neither the time nor Energy.... Hopefully, I'll be able to answer each one eventually. In the meantime, this is to YOU........
Thank you for your Condolences & Cards & Calls & Love & Friendship. Someday I hope that you understand what your Reaching Out to me right now means..... the Gratitude I Feel at being Blessed with such Special Friends. Ron was such a Special Light in this World who Touched everyone he met Deeply. I have No Bad Memories of Ron! Do you? He was so Loving & Gentle (even when he got mad & boisterous!).
He taught me to .......
...Think Twice before being so blunt,
...not burn any Bridges,
...Mend my "fences" & Friendships,
...not to force the machinery, even when I want to take a hammer to it!,
...sit back & think my problems through before acting impulsively,
...Forgive, because "it's not for the Other Person, it's for You!"He used to ask me, "What will become of us?" And I'd answer, "We'll just Live, Laugh and Love while we may!" We did!! 24/7 the last 3 years, and never got tired of being with each other or of hearing each other's Stories! .....Making up for Lost Time, I guess........
I am.........
Breathless. With hands over Heart...... No Words........................my Deepest Gratitude,
Sharri Lorraine~.
This is the last picture I have of Ron... as an "Orb" in his hospital room.... taken about 2 1/2 hours after he OBE'd for the Final Time.....
